On Friday, February 12, 2016, at 12:19 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a local hospital near the 7500 block of Hospital Drive regarding a male subject who arrived with non-life threatening stab wounds.
Officers contacted the male who advised of another subject who had been assaulted at a home near the 5500 block of Emerson Road. Officers responded to the address given to check the welfare of any additional occupants at the house. Upon arrival, officers observed a tarp in the driveway covering a deceased adult male.
Officers conducted a precautionary sweep of the residence to ensure there were no additional victims. It appeared that a struggle had occurred inside and no subjects were located at the home.
Sacramento Fire Personnel was requested to the scene and pronounced the man deceased. Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators responded to begin an investigation.
The investigation continues to be ongoing and a specific motive is still not yet known. The relationship between the deceased man and the injured subject is unknown at this time and no arrests have been made. The identity of the victim is pending the coroner’s examination.
