The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 52-year-old Ronald Montez for murder.

On Friday, February 12, 2016, at 12:19 p.m., officers responded to the 7500 block of Hospital Drive regarding a male subject who had arrived at the hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds.   Officers contacted the man, identified as Ronald Montez (pictured below) who advised officers of another subject who was possibly assaulted at a home near the 5500 block of Emerson Road.  Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male in the driveway covered by a tarp.  See News Release: http://www.sacpd.org/newsroom/releases/liveview.aspx?release_id=20160212-015

Once Montez was released from the hospital, he was interviewed by detectives at Police Headquarters and ultimately booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for murder.

The deceased male has been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office as 60-year-old Arthur Rodriguez.  A specific motive has not been determined and detectives believe the suspect was known to the victim.  The investigation remains very active.
