On Monday, February 15, 2016, at approximately 7:52 p.m., officers responded to a residence in the 7500 block of Mandy Drive regarding a report of a burglary where an unresponsive, male Asian adult was located in the house by the caller. Upon arrival, officers made entry into the house to check on the welfare of the male.
Upon entry, officers located an unresponsive, male Asian adult in his 20’s lying on the floor. The male appeared to have sustained upper body trauma and was declared deceased by the Sacramento Fire Department.
Officers conducted a protective sweep of the residence to ensure there were no additional victims or suspects in the house. During the sweep, a large sophisticated marijuana grow was located throughout separate rooms of the home.
Responding officers secured the scene and summoned the assistance of Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators. This remains an active investigation and no arrests have been made at this point.
A specific motive is not known and detectives do not believe this to be a random incident. The identity of the victim is pending the Coroner’s examination.
