The Sacramento Police Department has arrested 16-year-old Keymontae Lindsey for the murder of Grant High School football player Jaulon “JJ” Clavo.
On November 13, 2015, Jaulon “JJ” Clavo was driving himself and four friends to a pre-game, football meeting at Grant High School. As they pulled up to a stop sign at Silver Eagle Road and Mable Street, a suspect approached the passenger side of his vehicle and fired multiple rounds into the car. During the shooting, Clavo and one of his passengers were struck by the gunfire. One of the rear passengers drove the vehicle to Grant High School where they were able to get help. Clavo was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed a number of witnesses and received information from the community that ultimately led to the identification of Keymontae Lindsey as the person responsible for killing Jaulon Clavo. Lindsey was arrested on November 14, 2015 for gun possession on an unrelated incident and has remained in custody at the Sacramento County Juvenile Hall since that date. The motive behind the homicide is still unknown.
