On Sunday, March 20, 2016 at 10:04 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to a residence on the 3700 block of Clay St regarding a welfare check.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive female adult victim inside the residence who had sustained traumatic injuries. The Sacramento Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased. An initial assessment of the scene indicated that the woman did not die from natural causes.
Homicide detectives along with Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and began collecting evidence and canvassing the area.
The investigation continues to be active and no arrests have been made. A motive in the case has not been established. Investigators are asking for the community’s help for any information pertaining to this homicide. The identity of the victim is pending the coroner’s examination.
