The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying the suspect in a mail theft that occurred on the 4000 block of 69th Street.
On Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at approximately 1:52 p.m., the suspect (pictured below) stole mail from the victim’s residential mail box.
The suspect arrived in a white four-door vehicle, possibly a Toyota Camry, with black rims on the driver’s side. The suspect exited the vehicle and walked on to the victim’s porch where she took mail that was awaiting pickup. The suspect then returned to her vehicle and left the area.
The suspect is described as a female white adult with a heavy build, long brown hair and glasses. She was seen wearing jeans and a black sweatshirt with a hood.
Below are some helpful tips for residents to consider that may reduce their risk of becoming a victim of mail theft.
· Do not leave your mail in the mailbox overnight; collect it as soon as possible
· Drop your outgoing mail off at the post office or in a secure post office mailbox
· Do not send cash in the mail
· Get a lockable mailbox (available at home improvement stores) or have mail delivered to a P.O. box
· Advise the post office when you will be out of town and have them hold your mail until your return
· Report all suspected mail theft to the regional postal inspector at (877) 876-2455
