The Sacramento Police Department is proud to be a part of the Kops-n-Kids program as they celebrate their 30 years of service. This year at the second annual “Kops-N-Kids” award ceremony, we will be presenting nine students with scholarships. Since 1986, the Kops-n-Kids organization has partnered with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies, local fire departments, educators and community volunteers to provide a week long summer day camp for boys and girls. The camp gives kids the opportunity to interact with positive role models, experience sports clinics and participate in gang resistance, violence prevention, gun avoidance and drug deterrence activities.
The award recipients were selected based on community involvement and academics. They are also actively involved in our region’s Kops-N-Kids program. Please join us in honoring these very deserving students on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Public Safety Center, 5770 Freeport Boulevard. The ceremony will begin at 6:00 p.m.
