The Sacramento Police Department, and other law enforcement agencies, will honor our fallen heroes during several Law Enforcement Memorial events taking place between Thursday, April 28 to Monday, May 2, 2016.
The Sacramento Police Sheriff’s Memorial Foundation will hold its 14th Annual Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, April 28, 2016 at 12:00 p.m., at the memorial site, located at 500 Arden Way.
On Sunday, May 1, 2016, the Annual Candlelight Vigil for the 40th Annual California State Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will be held at the monument site, located at 10th Street and Capitol Mall. This event will be held from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
On Monday, May 2, 2016, at 10:30 a.m., the 40th Annual California State Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony will take place at the monument site, located at 10th Street and Capitol Mall. The California Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony honors those California Peace Officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while protecting and serving our communities.

Road Closures and Noise Advisement:
On Thursday, April 28, 2016, at approximately 12:00 p.m., there will be a twenty-one-gun salute to honor the fallen officers at the Sacramento Police Sheriff’s Memorial located at 500 Arden Way.
On Sunday, May 1, 2016, 10th Street between L Street and N Street will be closed to vehicle traffic from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
On Monday, May 2, 2016, Capitol Mall will be closed between the Tower Bridge and 9th Street as early as 8:30 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. and 10th Street will be closed from L Street to Q Street from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
