On Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 8:01 a.m. the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Ahern Street and A Street for reports that a man had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was conscious and alert. The Sacramento Fire Department was requested and immediately transported the victim to a local hospital. Despite live-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased by hospital personnel.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to collect evidence and canvass the area for potential witnesses.
The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made at this time. A motive in the case has not been established at this time. Detectives believe that this is an isolated incident and there are other witnesses to the crime that may have seen the attack. Investigators are asking for the community’s help for any information pertaining to this homicide. The identity of the victim is pending the coroner’s examination.
