The Sacramento Police Department is honored to announce the graduation of Academy Class 2016 BR-1.

The graduating class consists of 34 recruits, 27 of which will be sworn in as Sacramento Police Officers.  The remaining seven recruits will begin working for outside agencies throughout the region.  With these additional officers, they will bring the department to 668 sworn officers. 

The Sacramento Police Department continues to recruit qualified candidates to expand the diversity of our agency.  We believe it is essential that our workforce in Sacramento mirrors the diversity of the community we serve, while maintaining the high standards the organization demands and the public deserves.  This diversity will assist in establishing and maintaining relationships within our city and neighborhood organizations. 

Today is an exciting day for Sacramento, as these new officers have chosen to serve the citizens of Sacramento as their new profession.  On behalf of the Sacramento Police Department, you are cordially invited to join us tonight in congratulating this class at their graduation ceremony.  The graduation will be held on June 16, 2016, at the Memorial Auditorium, 1400 J Street and will begin at 6:00 p.m.
