On Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 6:00 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 200 block of De Witt Court regarding the call of shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they entered the residence and located a male, in his 30’s, who had sustained a life threatening gunshot wound. Sacramento Fire personnel responded to the scene and transported the male to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Crime Scene Investigators along with Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives responded to the scene to begin their investigation.
This investigation continues to be ongoing and a specific motive is still not yet known. While no arrests have been made at this time, investigators believe there is no immediate threat to the neighborhood. The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office.
