On Friday, July 15, 2016, at 11:59 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 200 block of Jibboom Street regarding the report of a male victim shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult inside a room at the motel. The victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound. The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the victim deceased.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to begin their investigation.
Detectives canvassed the area for evidence and contacted witnesses. This investigation remains active and no arrests have been made. Detectives have not yet established a specific motive for the shooting, but believe this is an isolated incident. The identity of the victim is pending the Sacramento County Coroner’s examination.
