On Friday, August 12, 2016, at 11:22 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 8000 block of Grandstaff Drive regarding a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived on scene, they located the female victim complainant outside the home and an unresponsive male adult lying on the floor inside the residence. The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the location and pronounced the male victim deceased.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to collect evidence and canvass the surrounding neighborhood.
This investigation remains active and no arrests have been made. Although a specific motive has not been established, detectives do not believe this is a random incident. Investigators are asking for the community’s help in providing any information regarding this incident.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
