On Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 4:44 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 5200 block of Carlson Drive (Paradise Beach) after receiving an anonymous tip from a citizen that there was a deceased male found near the American River.
Due to the large geographical area, County Park Rangers as well as members of the Sacramento Fire Department were requested to assist in searching the area. After an extensive search, a deceased male adult was located near the south bank of the American River. The victim appears to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to collect evidence and canvass the area for potential witnesses.
A specific motive has not yet been established in this case. The investigation remains very active and no arrests have been made at this time. Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding this incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
