On October 5, 2016, the Sacramento Police Department hosted a panel of speakers from the Justice for Neighbors (JFN) Program. This meeting was held to educate the community of the JFN program, how it works, and how it can help neighbors get resolutions to neighborhood issues that impact their quality of life. Over 80 community members from all over the city attended this informative meeting led by JFN experts.
The JFN Program was created with the goal of establishing partnerships between the City Attorney’s Office, Code Enforcement Officers, the Sacramento Police Department and the community to efficiently eliminate or reduce threats to the public health and safety in the City’s neighborhoods. The program focuses on addressing the most corrosive social and criminal nuisances that degrade the quality of life in the city. The JFN team investigates and prosecutes physical and social nuisance actions, including drug and illegal firearms, evictions, drug and red light abatements, and administrative penalty proceedings to address nuisance properties within the City of Sacramento.
