On Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 5:00 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 4700 block of Brookfield Drive regarding the report of shots fired.
When officers arrived on scene, they located two male victims inside the garage of the residence. One victim was unresponsive and the second victim had sustained serious injuries from an apparent gunshot wound. The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the location and transported both victims to a local hospital. Upon arrival at the hospital, one victim was pronounced deceased and the second victim remains in critical condition.
Officers also located a deceased male adult in the bedroom of the residence. The Sacramento County Coroner was requested to the scene to being their investigation.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to begin canvassing the area for evidence and contacting potential witnesses.
Detectives have not yet established a specific motive for the shooting, but believe there are no outstanding suspects. The investigation remains active to determine the relationship between the men involved and who resides at the home.
The identity of the deceased victims will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
