On December 23, 2016 between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. the Sacramento Police Department responded to several armed robberies in the south and east areas of the city.
In each incident, the victim was of Asian descent and was approached by two to three armed suspects who demanded their money as they returned home. In at least one of the robberies, the suspect fired in the direction of victim while running away. Thankfully, there have not been any injuries resulting from these robberies. In two of the robberies the suspects were seen fleeing the scene in a dark colored, four-door sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus with “Fulton Auto” paper plates.
While the description of the suspects varies in each incident, these robberies don’t appear to be specific to the city. The unincorporated area of the County has also experienced a few similar type robberies. The Sacramento Police Department and the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department are working together to address the issue and find the individuals responsible for these crimes.
As many of you are aware, late this summer we experienced a similar crime trend in the same geographical area where multiple arrests were made. The Sacramento Police Department takes all acts of violence seriously and we will deploy significant resources until these robberies cease and the people responsible are held accountable. We continue to ask for the community’s help in spreading the word of these incidents and urge you take preventative steps to ensure you don’t become a victim.
