On Sunday, January 1, 2017, at 12:26 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Rio Linda Boulevard and Alamos Avenue regarding a subject down in the roadway.
When officers arrived on scene, they located an unresponsive adult male in the roadway. The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. The victim’s identity will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
The Sacramento Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit responded to the scene to begin their investigation. Based upon evidence found at the scene, investigators believe that the victim was in the roadway at the time the collision occurred.
The department is seeking information about a vehicle that may have been involved in the collision. The vehicle is believed to be a white-colored pickup or SUV and will likely have front-end damage including a missing headlight.
