The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community’s help in providing information regarding a burglary and vandalism that occurred to a local area business.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2017, officers responded to a barbershop on the 5700 block of Broadway for a report of a burglary that occurred overnight. When officers arrived, they found the business had been broken into and the interior had been vandalized. Racial epithets were found to be spray-painted on the walls and the business had been ransacked.
Incidents which have been identified as “hate crimes” will not be tolerated in our community. The Sacramento Police Department understands the negative impact that these incidents have in our community and will ensure the appropriate resources are dedicated to the investigation.
The Sacramento Police Department encourages any witnesses with information regarding this hate crime to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or submit an anonymous tip using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
