On February 10, 2017 at 2:01 p.m., 28-year-old Armani Lee violently engaged officers in a gunfight near Del Paso Boulevard and Land Avenue. Lee, who was considered an armed and dangerous felon was wanted by police for a shooting on February 4, 2017 in North Sacramento. Since the shooting, Lee has been hospitalized for his injuries that were sustained in the incident. Today, Lee was discharged from the hospital and has been booked into the Sacramento County Jail for a Parole Violation and charges related to the February 4th shooting. Additional charges are anticipated.
This incident is the second unprovoked shooting on our officers in the past four months. Thankfully, none of our officers or any citizens were injured in this incident. It is the selfless courage and dedication of these officers that keep our communities safe.
