On Monday, March 20, 2017, at 5:24 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Harris Avenue and Elm Street regarding a report of a shooting that occurred.
Upon arrival, officers located a possible shooting victim inside a vehicle on Elm Street. The man had sustained a serious injury and medics were immediately requested. Fire department personnel arrived at the scene and determined the subject was deceased.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to begin their investigation.
A specific motive for the shooting has not yet been established by Detectives. The investigation remains active and no arrests have yet been made.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
