In the early morning hours of Thursday, March 23, 2017, the Sacramento Police Department was contacted by a subject who expressed concern for the well-being and safety of several people who live at a residence on the 1100 block of 35th Avenue.
Officers responded to the house to conduct a welfare check of the occupants but were unsuccessful in reaching anyone. Out of concern for the safety of the residents, officers gained access to the home and located four deceased individuals.
Officers developed additional information which led investigators to believe that these homicides were not a random act. In fact, officers identified a subject of interest who was located this morning in San Francisco. He was detained by officers from the San Francisco Police Department near the area of Pierce Street and Golden Gate Avenue. Detectives from the Sacramento Police Department responded to San Francisco to continue with the investigation.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. A specific motive has not been determined and the case remains very active.
The identity of the deceased victims will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
