On February 10, 2017, three officers from the Sacramento Police Department discharged their firearms during an armed encounter with 28-year-old Armani Lee in the area of Del Paso Boulevard and Land Avenue. The original press release of the incident can be found here:

As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency, the Department has released dispatch audio files, in-car camera videos, and a photograph of a weapon recovered at the scene. To protect the identities of the victims and witnesses, personal identifying information including the names, addresses, and phone numbers have been redacted from the recordings. Per City Council policy, video recordings containing any images of the individuals involved in the incident have been blurred.
The actual shooting incident was not captured on any of our In-Car Camera (ICC) systems; however, responding officer’s ICC did capture video footage of their response which falls within the scope of release. The period covered in this release is from 2:00 PM (when officers reported that shots were fired) to 2:16 PM (when the suspect was transported from the scene). None of the officers involved in this incident were issued Body Worn Cameras.

The investigation into this case by detectives is ongoing and includes oversight by the city’s independent Office of Public Safety Accountability as well as the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office.
