On Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at approximately 8:37 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 7700 block of West Stockton Boulevard regarding a report of a shooting that occurred inside a restaurant. 

Upon arrival, officers determined a verbal confrontation occurred inside the restaurant between two groups of subjects.  The restaurant was crowded with customers due to the Valentine’s Day holiday.  Officers determined the altercation escalated and resulted in subjects from both groups presenting firearms and shooting at members of the other group.  During this incident, two individuals sustained gunshot wounds.  One of the victims, from Vallejo, was determined to be an uninvolved party in the altercation.  The second victim, from Sacramento, was determined to be associated with the groups that were involved in the altercation.  There is no indication that the groups knew each other prior to the verbal altercation or shooting.  The Sacramento Police Department Gang Unit responded and took over the investigation. 

After extensive follow-up, the assistance of the community and the Davis Police Department, Sacramento Police Department Gang detectives identified the two involved suspects as 21-year-old, Dan Martin of Sacramento and 20-year-old, Allen Pina of Vallejo. 

Sacramento Police Department detectives arrested suspect Dan Martin on March 16, 2017 in Sacramento.  Suspect Martin was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm, and probation violation.  Suspect Allen Pina was arrested by U.S. Marshall’s in Vallejo on April 17, 2017.  Suspect Pina is currently in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail on charges of attempted murder and firearms charges.  At the request of the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office, photos of the suspects will not be released at this time, due to the ongoing investigation.
