On Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at approximately 4:43 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 3300 block of 6th Avenue regarding the sound of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim outside of a residence. The man had suffered a traumatic injury believed to be the result of a shooting. Fire personnel were summoned to the scene to assist in rendering aid to the man but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. A motive has not yet been established for the incident but investigators are working to identify other outstanding persons who may have been present when the shooting occurred.
