The Sacramento Police Department is asking for the community’s help in identifying a carjacking suspect.
On Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at about 5:30 p.m., the suspect was passing through the area on foot when he observed a vehicle parked running and left unattended in front of a restaurant located on the 6400 block of Broadway.
The victim observed the suspect in his Toyota Tacoma truck and confronted him. The victim proceeded to try and physically remove the suspect from the vehicle but was unsuccessful. During the struggle, the suspect threatened to shoot the victim, but no gun was ever seen. As the suspect fled the area in the victim’s vehicle, the victim was dragged a short distance away where he let go and fell to the ground. The suspect was last seen driving south on 65th Street in the victim’s truck. Officers located the truck a short time later around 14th Avenue and 63rd Street.
The suspect is described as:
• Male Asian Adult, late 20’s, 5’6” tall, 120 pounds with black hair and a thin black mustache. He was last seen wearing a blue oversized t-shirt with white writing, blue basketball style shorts and white/black high-top shoes.
The Sacramento Police Department encourages anyone with information about this carjacking to contact the dispatch center at (916) 264-5471 or Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers at (916) 443-HELP (4357) or submit an anonymous tip using the free “P3 Tips” smartphone app. Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
