On Monday, May 22, 2017 at approximately 6:14 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 3900 block of Lily Street regarding a shooting that occurred.
Upon arrival, officers located two adult male victims inside a residence. The men had both suffered traumatic injuries that were believed to be the result of a shooting. Initially responding officers immediately rendered aid to the men. Fire personnel were also summoned to the scene to assist and later declared one of the injured men deceased at the scene. The other surviving victim was transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment.
The identity of the deceased victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. A motive has not yet been established for the incident but investigators are working to identify other outstanding persons who may have been present when the shooting occurred.
