On Monday, June 12, 2017, at approximately 12:20 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 3400 block of 33rd Street for reports of a subject that had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male, laying on the ground in front of a residence. It was discovered that the victim had sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to his body. The Sacramento Fire Department responded and transported the male to a local area hospital where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The identity of the deceased male will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. At this point, a motive for the shooting has not been established. Additionally, it is unknown to investigators whether the suspect(s) fled on foot on in a vehicle.
