On Friday, July 14, 2017, at approximately 3:15 a.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Calvados Avenue and Green Street for a subject down in the roadway.
When officers arrived, they located an unresponsive male laying in the roadway. The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene and pronounced the male deceased.
Due to the fatality and the evidence on scene, the Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) responded to the scene to take over the investigation.
Through investigation, detectives believe the pedestrian, a 30-year-old male, was walking east of Calvados possibly carrying some wood, when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop after the collision and fled the scene. Investigators believe the vehicle may be a silver or white 4-door sedan, however they have no information on the driver. Detectives believe the vehicle possibly struck the victim around 2:00 a.m.
