Please join the City of Sacramento and the Sacramento Police Department for the Swearing-In Ceremony of Police Chief Daniel Hahn. He will be sworn in on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at his alma mater California State University, Sacramento, in the University Ballroom. The public is invited to attend. Following the ceremony, the public is invited to a free community BBQ at McClatchy Park, with food, children’s activities and community resource information. Media is invited and encouraged to arrive at CSUS by 2:00 p.m.
Daniel Hahn has 30 years of experience in law enforcement, 23 of which were serving the Sacramento Police Department. He started as a Community Service Officer at 19 years old while attending Sacramento City College. He became a police officer while attending community college and later graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1995. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from National University which he earned in 2001. He rose to Captain with the Department before accepting the position as Police Chief for the City of Roseville in March 2011. In 2011, he also became an American Leadership Forum Fellow. Chief Hahn will lead the Sacramento Police Department which has more than 1,100 sworn and civilian staff.
