On Sunday, August 27, 2017 at approximately, 2:15 a.m. officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the area of 12th Street and K Street for a male subject in his late 30’s, who was bleeding and in need of medical aid. Officers and medical personnel responded to the scene and discovered that the subject appeared to have fallen and hit his head.
The victim was transported to a local area hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Preliminary information obtained through the investigation suggests that the victim’s injuries were possibly caused by a physical assault.
Due to the serious nature of the victim’s injuries, detectives from the Major Crimes Division as well as Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to canvass the area for any potential evidence or witnesses. Investigators believe there may have been witnesses in the area at the time of the assault and are requesting the public’s assistance in any information they may have related to the incident. No motive has yet been established in this incident.
