On Friday, September 1, 2017 at approximately 9:05 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 1400 block of Janrick Avenue after being requested from Fire Personnel. Fire Personnel advised they located suspicious circumstances after responding for a carbon monoxide alarm call to the residence.
Arriving officers observed smoke coming from the residence and entered to clear the house. While clearing the house for occupants, officers located two bodies inside the residence. Fire Personnel declared both of the subjects deceased.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and any potential witnesses. The cause of death of the two subjects has not been determined at this time.
The identity of the two subjects will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been completed.
