On Thursday, September 28, 2017 at approximately 3:00 a.m., officers responded to the 5100 block of Ehrhardt Avenue after receiving a 911 call. The caller reported hearing a gunshot and seeing someone lying in the street.
Soon after, officers arrived and located an unresponsive male in the street with a fatal gunshot wound. Fire Department personnel arrived and declared the adult victim deceased on scene.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and took over the investigation. The motive for the shooting and any suspect descriptions are unknown at this point.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding the incident.
The identity of the deceased male will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once the next of kin has been notified.
