On Sunday, December 03, 2017, at approximately 7:20 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to area of Norwood Avenue and Fairbanks Avenue, regarding a citizen who located a male lying on the levee, west of the intersection.
Officers located a male adult with an apparent gunshot wound. Medical personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased. Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time a motive for the shooting has not been determined. The Sacramento County Crime Lab was called to assist with scene processing.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
