On Sunday, January 14, 2018, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3500 block of 44th Street regarding a subject that was shot.
Officers arrived on-scene and located an unresponsive male adult with a gunshot wound injury. Officers immediately began life-saving efforts and were relieved by the Sacramento Fire Department. Ultimately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by fire personnel.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
