This press release is a summary of the facts known at this time.  The incident is still under investigation and the preliminary information is subject to change.  Additional details will be released as they become available.

On Sunday, February 4, 2018, at 9:32 p.m., the Sacramento Police Department responded to Avocet Court regarding a shooting.

Officers arrived and located a female adult with one gunshot wound. Officers summoned medical personnel from the Sacramento Fire Department. Medical personnel transported the victim to a local area hospital where she is in critical condition.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Based on the severity of the victim’s injuries, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were summoned to the scene to take over the investigation.

While the investigation is still very active, detectives believe this is an isolated incident.  The involved parties have been identified and it has been determined that there are no outstanding suspects.
