MISSING IN CALIFORNIA EVENT

Sacramento area law enforcement has partnered with organizations at the local, state and federal level to assist people in our communities with locating missing persons, identifying previously unidentified individuals, and connecting family members with resources to assist them with locating missing loved ones.

This event offers families affected by the long-term disappearance of a loved one the ability to either report their loved one missing to law enforcement or add information to an already existing missing person report.

As of January 1, 2018, there were more than 19,660 California missing persons records entered into the national database.  There are more than 3,200 California cases involving unidentified remains and at the national level that number exceeds 8,600.

This free event will take place on June 9, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Sacramento State – Harper Alumni Center (6000 College Town Drive, Sacramento).

Additional information can also be found by following: www.facebook.com/CAmissing/

At this event, families may engage with on-site resources that can assist, such as:

  • National Center for Missing and Exploited Children
  • NamUs
  • Victim advocacy groups
  • Investigators from law enforcement across our region

Law enforcement will be on hand to take reports and gather information and identifiers of missing persons.

This event is strictly focused on investigating missing person cases.  Though we will need names and contact information for family members and anyone with information regarding the missing person, we will not be conducting background checks on family members or attendees.

Although it is not required, anyone who is interested in attending this event is encouraged to contact Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputy Paige Kneeland at (916) 874-1751 or ckneeland@sacsheriff.com to make an appointment.  Walk-ins are welcome - no one will be turned away.
