On Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at approximately 11:13 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the area of Del Paso Boulevard and Winnipeg Street regarding a shooting.

When officers arrived in the area, they located a male with a gunshot wound. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures until relieved by Sacramento Fire Department personnel. The male was transported to a local area hospital and he is in stable condition.

Responding officers located a separate male with multiple gunshot wounds near Del Paso Boulevard and Oxford Street. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures, including administering cardio pulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.). The Sacramento Fire Department continued lifesaving efforts and declared the male deceased on scene.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Preliminary information suggests that this shooting is related to an armed robbery at a business in the 1800 block of Del Paso Boulevard. While this investigation is still very active, detectives believe this is an isolated incident and there are no outstanding suspects.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding the incident.

The identity of the deceased male will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
