On Saturday, May 5, 2018, at approximately 10:23 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 4000 block of Broadway, regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived and located a male adult with at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately took lifesaving measures, including administering cardio pulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.). The Sacramento Fire Department arrived and declared the victim deceased on scene.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding the incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
