On Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to a storage facility in the 1800 block of Glenrose Avenue on a report of a dead body found inside a storage unit.
Officers arrived on scene and located a body inside of a storage unit. Officers immediately conducted a canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Sacramento Police Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation.
Through investigation, Sacramento Police Detectives determined the owners of property inside the storage unit belonged to Nevada residents, Tyler and Averyauna Anderson. Detectives contacted the Reno Police Department and began a joint investigation on this case.
On Wednesday, May 16, 2018, detectives arrested Tyler Anderson. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for manslaughter.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding this investigation.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified. At this time, the cause of death is unknown.
