This press release is a summary of the facts known at the time.  This incident is still under investigation and the information is subject to change.  Additional details will be released as they become available.

On Friday, May 25, 2018 at approximately 8:17 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the area of Riverside Boulevard / 35^th Avenue regarding a subject found deceased.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased, male adult along the river trail.  Fire personnel were present and pronounced the subject deceased.

Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation.  Officers canvassed the area for evidence and potential witnesses. 

The cause of death has not been determined at this time and the identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been completed.
