On Saturday, May 26, 2018 at approximately 7:45 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 5200 block of Mack Road regarding a ShotSpotter activation. While officers were responding, additional calls came in that a subject had been shot.
Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive male adult. Fire personnel arrived and pronounced the subject deceased.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene and took over the investigation. Officers canvassed the area for evidence and potential witnesses. At this point, officers believe this is an isolated incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been completed.
