On Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at approximately 9:07 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of Tumbleweed Way regarding a shooting.

Officers arrived in the vicinity and located a male with at least one gunshot wound. Responding officers immediately took lifesaving measures and administered Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The Sacramento Fire Department responded and continued lifesaving measures. While on scene, fire personnel pronounced the victim deceased.

Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence.  Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
