On Thursday, at approximately 5:20 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Del Paso Boulevard regarding the reports of multiple gunshots heard by residents in the area. When officers arrived, they located two deceased individuals.
Officers conducted an initial canvas of the area for witnesses and evidence. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators have been called to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined. However, investigators believe that this is an isolated incident.
The 3400 block of Del Paso Boulevard is closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic as the crime scene is being processed for evidence by investigators. There were no lockdowns in the area and schools in the area opened on schedule.
The identity of the two male victims will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
