On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at approximately 10:32 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 300 block of Arnold Gamble Circle regarding the reports of multiple gunshots heard by residents in the area. Officers canvased the area for victims, witnesses and evidence. During the initial canvas, officers did not locate any evidence of a shooting.
Officers conducted follow-up and received information that a gunshot victim was located in the 5600 block of Canary Drive, in North Highlands. The male victim sustained at least one gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene investigators were called to the area to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time the original shooting scene has not been located, and a motive for the shooting has not been determined. However, investigators believe that this is an isolated incident and the shooting happened in the North Natomas area.
The identity of the male victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
