On Friday, October 19, 2018, at approximately 6:28 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department responded to the 3900 block of Branch Street to conduct follow-up on a report of a missing female adult, 26-year-old Candice De Anda who was believed to be possibly driving a Ford Taurus.
During the investigation, officers determined that the circumstances surrounding her disappearance were suspicious. Based on this information, detectives took the lead on the investigation.
While conducting follow-up, detectives located a female adult who they believed was 26-year-old Candice De Anda. When she was found, she was deceased. The vehicle in question (Ford Taurus) has also been recovered.
Based on the circumstances, detectives have determined this to be a homicide. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are continuing to conduct a thorough investigation. At this time, detectives believe this is an isolated incident. However, detectives have arrested a person of interest on unrelated charges while the investigation remains on-going and active.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the deceased victim as 26-year-old Candice De Anda.
