On Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 2:01 a.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 2000 block of West El Camino Avenue regarding a shooting. The caller advised a victim had been shot.
Officers arrived on scene and located a victim with a gunshot wound. The victim was declared deceased on scene by the Sacramento Fire Department.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined. This incident does appear to be isolated and there is no current threat to the surrounding area.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
Detectives are asking for the community’s help in providing any information they may have regarding this incident.
