_{Salute To Law Enforcement Night was celebrated this evening at the Golden 1 Center. During the game, the Sacramento Kings recognized Officer Lilia Vasquez for her efforts in the community and presented her with the Community Impact Award. Officer Vasquez is 13-year veteran of the Sacramento Police Department. She is currently one of our four Criminal Justice Magnet Officers at John F. Kennedy High School in South Sacramento. Before this assignment she worked as a Community Service Officer, School Resource Officer at Natomas High School, and an Outreach and Engagement Officer. She has dedicated countless hours to the children and young people of the Sacramento region as well as received multiple awards for her hard work and achievements. _{·               Created a peer mentor program at Natomas High to help students dealing with stress.}

_{·               Helped launch “Behind the Badge” a youth mentoring and recruitment program in collaboration with Councilmember Harris’ office.}

_{·               Helped launch the curriculum for Adopt a Classroom, a SPD Cops and Clergy middle school teaching cohort taught in five sessions.  Have taught over 200 kids thus far.}

_{·               Co-Creator of SOLID “Saving our lives and investing in Dreams” anti-violence campaign soon to launch Spring 2019.}
