Since October 19, 2018, the Sacramento Police Department has responded to 15 burglaries at various businesses in South Sacramento. During these burglaries, the suspect would break window(s) of the business to gain entry, steal money/merchandise and flee.
During these crimes, patrol officers conducted initial canvases and detectives have conducted follow-up. Recently, detectives developed information that led to the identity of the suspect and his location.
On Monday, January 28, 2019, at approximately 6:40 p.m., after extensive follow-up and diligent work by numerous officers, detectives and the Post Release Community Supervision Team, the Sacramento Police Department arrested 31-year-old Justin Sanagustin in the 7400 block of Greenback Lane, in Citrus Heights. In addition to the arrest, officers recovered stolen merchandise from the burglaries and a replica AR-style rifle. Suspect Justin Sanagustin was arrested for 15 counts of burglary related to this recent series in South Sacramento. He was also arrested for evading officers during a high-speed vehicle pursuit earlier in the month.
