On Saturday, March 9, 2019 at approximately 12:26 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 1400 block of Northgate Boulevard on a report of a body found in the parkway by Sacramento County Park Rangers.
Officers arrived on scene and were directed by the park rangers to a wooded area near the American River pedestrian bridge where they located an unresponsive female that was deceased. Fire personnel responded as well and declared the female deceased.
Due to the suspicious circumstances, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded and took over the investigation. The cause of death has not been determined and the identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been completed.
